Medal Of Honor Tuesday

SAKATO, GEORGE T.

Private George T. Sakato distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 29 October 1944, on hill 617 in the vicinity of Biffontaine, France. After his platoon had virtually destroyed two enemy defense lines, during which he personally killed five enemy soldiers and captured four, his unit was pinned down by heavy enemy fire. Disregarding the enemy fire, Private Sakato made a one-man rush that encouraged his platoon to charge and destroy the enemy strongpoint. While his platoon was reorganizing, he proved to be the inspiration of his squad in halting a counter-attack on the left flank during which his squad leader was killed. Taking charge of the squad, he continued his relentless tactics, using an enemy rifle and P-38 pistol to stop an organized enemy attack. During this entire action, he killed 12 and wounded two, personally captured four and assisted his platoon in taking 34 prisoners. By continuously ignoring enemy fire, and by his gallant courage and fighting spirit, he turned impending defeat into victory and helped his platoon complete its mission. Private Sakato’s extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit on him, his unit, and the United States Army.

The Continuing Tales Of Liberal Hypocrisy

Here is today's lesson in liberal hypocrisy. I want to mention a few observations of mine that really just seem too obvious for words. It seems that the libs have sold their souls for comfort.
Liberals are supposedly the champions of women's rights. If that were really true then we should see stories every day about how liberals are heading to Afghanistan and Iraq heading up support for women and children in these countries. Instead liberals are apathetic to the whole plight of the Arab woman. Are they scared because of all the violence? No, they don't care. It doesn't affect them in the slightest so they don't write about it or even talk about it.
Another reason they don't try to care about the Arab woman is because anything positive that happens in the Arab world can be linked directly back to the courageous actions of George W. Bush. This is like kryptonite to the liberal. If George W. Bush gets the credit, then forget it. That's their motto. He is the devil to them and they will not associate with him no matter how positive the action might be?
I think that liberals think of people as usable trash. You take what you can get from them, use drama and cliche to garner a positive response from the American people, and then you discard that piece of trash in a proper receptacle once you have squeezed the last piece of usefulness from them.
The party of the people no more.

My Favorite Phil Hendrie Show Guests

If you read my blog regularly you will read frequent mentions of my all-time favorite radio show, The Phil Hendrie Show. It's so unique that it is difficult to describe how it even works. So here is how Wikipedia describes it:
The Phil Hendrie Show is a comedy talk radio program syndicated throughout North America on Premiere Radio Networks and on XM Satellite Radio. It is known for featuring a variety of highly outrageous and controversial guests, all whom are fictional and voiced live by the host, Phil Hendrie.

Though Hendrie often alludes to the fact that he is doing the voices, listeners are invited to call and many are duped into believing that the guests on the show are real. He rapidly switches back and forth between a studio microphone and a conventional telephone, creating the illusion that his "guest" has called into the show. Adding to the illusion, the telephone line often features prerecorded background noises from various locations.
The "guests" that Phil has on are all regular guests. So now here are my all time favorite "guests"...

descriptions from Wikipedia

* Steve Bosell -- Emotionally fragile owner of B&B Construction of Corona, California and frequent litigant, originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The "B&B" in his business name stands for "Bosell & Bosell." Steve is not in business with his father, son, brother, uncle, or anyone else. The "B&B" is supposed to represent the intensity he brings to his business: "Bosell and Bosell yet again, just non-stop Bosell comin' at ya." One of the show's most popular guests, Steve admits "weeping" at the slightest humiliation and frequently threatens to sue his wife for emotional trauma. Another common target for Steve's lawsuits is his neighbor, Roy Hutchins. In all his litigation, Steve is assisted by longtime attorney Dolores Blasingame of Riverside, California.

* Bobbie Dooley -- Officious president of the gated community "Western Estates Homeowners' Association" of Westlake Village, California, president of her PTA, and arguably the show's most popular character. Husband "Steve Dooley" is the vice-president of Western Estates who frequently cuts in on conversations but says very little, mostly supporting his wife's statements. "Bobbie" makes a trademark, repeated "mmmmmmmm hmmmmmmm" noise when listening to the callers, which almost always annoys them. Her father was a circus clown and her mother a prostitute. Hendrie often does "Best of Bobbie Dooley" shows during holiday periods.

* Hal and Viola Levolier -- This semi-wealthy retired couple are always in their private plane—listening to Phil whom they absolutely adore—while darting to such places as Laughlin, Nevada. Continually fighting each other for control of the plane's telephone, the couple invariably stalls the aircraft and they "die" in a crash after each appearance.

* Jay Santos -- "Brigadier Admiral" in the Citizens' Auxiliary Police (motto: "We Take a Peek Over the Shoulder of the Police") of Hawthorne, California (originally from Philadelphia). His uniform consists of a blue arm band, a pith helmet, Bermuda shorts, and Doc Marten wingtips. An overbearing, officious "rent-a-cop," Santos' motto and excuse for his behavior is "It's About Saving Lives." Jay gets his marching orders from Major Elvis Newton, commanding officer of the Citizens' Auxiliary Police. According to Santos, the garage sale, yard sale, all that nonsense, is the pit of evil in America.

* Jeff Dowder -- A stoner, a drummer in the band "Darkhorse" (aka Darque Hoarse) and Professor of Mechanical Physics at Caltech. Jeff is based on real-life pal "Sundown" from Hendrie's days in Miami and Minneapolis. Jeff is advocate of the medical use of marijauna. He often demonstrates his drumming live on the air, usually incorporating various "jazz modalities"; he frequently pauses for bong hits. Jeff has a friend named Toby Beau.

Great stuff!

The Liberal Lie of Republican Racism

This is a repost. Any time the democrats accuse us of being racists I feel the need to repost it.

Probably the biggest single lie hoisted onto republicans by the left wing in America is that somehow the Republicans are racist by nature. How anyone ever bought this silly claim is beyond reason. Deroy Murdock of the National Review Online writes a brilliant piece this week where he chronicles the achievements Republicans have made towards the establishment of Civil Rights. Also some of the racism the left has shown towards blacks. Remember it was the Democratic south that invoked Jim Crowe laws, plus 82% of Republicans compared to 66% democrats voted for The Civil Rights Act in the 60's. This is not to say that Republicans haven't had their share of racist members throughout the years...but it certainly isn't a staple of our party like the left want you to believe.

The House Policy Committee's 2005 Republican Freedom Calendar offers 365 examples of GOP support for women, blacks, and other minorities, often over Democratic objections. Among its highlights:

  • "To stop the Democrats' pro-slavery agenda, anti-slavery activists founded the Republican party, starting with a few dozen men and women in Ripon, Wisconsin on March 20, 1854," the calendar notes. "Democratic opposition to Republican efforts to protect the civil rights of all Americans lasted not only throughout Reconstruction, but well into the 20th century. In the south, those Democrats who most bitterly opposed equality for blacks founded the Ku Klux Klan, which operated as the party's terrorist wing."

White supremacist worked club in hand with Democrats for decades:

  • May 22, 1856: Two years after the Grand Old party's birth, U.S. Senator Charles Sumner (R., Mass.) rose to decry pro-slavery Democrats. Congressman Preston Brooks (D., S.C.) responded by grabbing a stick and beating Sumner unconscious in the Senate chamber. Disabled, Sumner could not resume his duties for three years

  • July 30, 1866: New Orleans' Democratic government ordered police to raid an integrated GOP meeting, killing 40 people and injuring 150.

Republicans also have supported legislation favorable to blacks, often against intense Democratic headwinds:

  • In 1865, Congressional Republicans unanimously backed the 13th Amendment, which made slavery unconstitutional. Among Democrats, 63 percent of senators and 78 percent of House members voted: "No."

  • February 28, 1871: The GOP Congress passed the Enforcement Act, giving black voters federal protection.

These are all examples directly from the above opinion piece by Deroy Murdock. Keep in mind that democrats did do some good for civil rights...But should we allow them to pretend that they are the ones that care for minorities when for so long they tried to hinder the cause of freedom for people of all color?

The ACLU’s Hypocritical Legacy

Crossposted from Stop The ACLU

Convincing liberals that the ACLU is leading us down a dangerous path is about as productive as talking to a rock. Perhaps this is because I mostly deal with far left liberals who share the same insane views and have the same radical agenda as the ACLU. Anyone who believes that the ACLU is there to purely defend the Constitution is naive at best. Surely there are some moderate liberals out there that can concede that the organization is in need of reform.

A balanced society can not survive resting in the fringe. A Nation only concerned with security will drift toward a police state, and one that follows the absolutist views of liberty like the ACLU will drift toward anarchy.

The ACLU proudly display a banner that states, Keep America Safe and Free, but any honest person will admit that the ACLU have done nothing for the safety of America. As a matter of fact, all evidence leads to quite the opposite. The ACLU are always ready to put the security of America at risk in the pursuit of its absolutist views of liberty.

Many of the ACLU's former leaders have noticed the irresponsible shifting of the ACLU away from true civil liberty protection into a much more dangerous agenda. For example take the words of this former Executive Director of the ACLU

The right to express unpopular opinions, advocate despised ideas and display graphic images is something the ACLU has steadfastly defended for all of its nearly 80-year history.

But the ACLU, a group for which I proudly worked as executive director of the Florida and Utah affiliates for more than 10 years, has developed a blind spot when it comes to defending anti-abortion protesters. The organization that once defended the right of a neo-Nazi group to demonstrate in heavily Jewish Skokie, Ill., now cheers a Portland, Ore., jury that charged a group of anti-abortion activists with $107 million in damages for expressing their views. Gushed the ACLU's press release: "We view the jury's verdict as a clarion call to remove violence and the threat of violence from the political debate over abortion."

Were the anti-abortion activists on trial accused of violence? No. Did they threaten violence? Not as the ACLU or Supreme Court usually defines it, when in the context of a call for social change.

The activists posted a Web site dripping with animated blood and titled "The Nuremberg Files," after the German city where the Nazis were tried for their crimes. Comparing abortion to Nazi atrocities, the site collected dossiers on abortion doctors, whom they called "baby butchers." ...

This is ugly, scary stuff. But it is no worse than neo-Nazi calls for the annihilation of the Jewish people, or a college student posting his rape fantasies about a fellow coed on the Web, both of which the ACLU has defended in the past.

None of the anti-abortion group's intimidating writings explicitly threatened violence. Still, the ACLU of Oregon refused to support the defendants' First Amendment claims. Instead, it submitted a friend-of-the-court brief taking no one's side but arguing that speech constitutes a physical threat only when the speaker intends his statement to be taken as one.

...Before anti-abortion zealots started getting sued, the ACLU had much more tolerance for menacing speech. Few of the 20th century's great social movements were entirely peaceable. The labor, civil-rights, antiwar, environmental and black-power movements were an amalgam of violence, civil disobedience and highly charged rhetoric. But to gag fiery speakers who call for harm to the establishment because others in the movement pursue their political goals with fists, guns or bombs would do terrible damage to strong, emotive pleas tot social change. It is something neither the ACLU nor, thankfully, the courts have countenanced in the past.

That's why in 1969 the ACLU helped defend a Ku Klux Klan member who had called for violence against the president, Congress and the Supreme Court. At the ACLU's urging, the Supreme Court ruled that speech advocating violence was constitutionally protected unless it incited imminent lawless action and was likely to produce such action. This case was later used to defend the speech of black militants.

The ACLU also applauded a 1982 Supreme Court decision that found that speeches promising violent reprisals were protected by the First Amendment. During the civil-rights movement, a leader of the NAACP called for "breaking the necks" of blacks who violated a boycott of white-owned businesses in Mississippi, and published a list of those who did. Some of the boycott violators were beaten. The court ruled that despite the atmosphere of fear, all the speeches and lists were part of a debate on a public issue that needed to be "uninhibited, robust, and wide-open."

I would argue that the Constitution doesn't protect all of these extreme positions of the ACLU, but that isn't the point he is trying to make. The issue is the ACLU's curious commitment to "uninhibited, robust, and wide-open" free speech when it involves things such as virtual child pornography, but not when it involves a something like a boss making racially offensive statements.

Unfortunately, there are some people who are so hypnotized by the ACLU's absolutist views and of the ACLU's campaign for pedophilia and child pornography that they are prepared to defend an organization that has become a shadow of its former self--a group that lets its idealistic and skewed understanding of the establishment clause trump freedom of religion and freedom of speech.

Stop the ACLU had the opportunity last year of interviewing a former ACLU lawyer. He was concerned with much of the same things.

The ACLU played a helpful role in the civil rights movement defending these people, and I can't turn my back on that. I have to give credit where credit is due." "But….that being said, what they have done in the past is completely eviscerated by what they do in the present. The ACLU has become a fanatical anti-faith Taliban of American religious secularism."

"The ACLU is involved in the secular cleansing of our history. This is not just a fight about free exercise, but about the protection of our American history. The ACLU want to deny America the knowledge of their Christian heritage."

It seems that the many of the ACLU's greatest critics came from their very ranks. The division within the ACLU will continue as long as the ACLU continues on the irresponsible, hypocritical path it is on. America needs a civil liberties union, sadly the ACLU isn't doing that job. If the ACLU succeeds in the dangerous direction it is steering America, they will ironically be putting in jeapordy the very liberty they claim to protect.

Medal Of Honor Tuesday

The following account is true. You and I have freedom and choice because of men like Joe E. Mann...

MANN, JOE E.

Rank and organization: Private First Class, U.S. Army, Company H, 502d Parachute Infantry, 101st Airborne Division. Place and date: Best, Holland, 18 September 1944. Entered service at: Seattle, Wash. Birth: Rearden, Wash. G.O. No.: 73, 30 August 1945. Citation: He distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry above and beyond the call of duty. On 18 September 1944, in the vicinity of Best., Holland, his platoon, attempting to seize the bridge across the Wilhelmina Canal, was surrounded and isolated by an enemy force greatly superior in personnel and firepower. Acting as lead scout, Pfc. Mann boldly crept to within rocket-launcher range of an enemy artillery position and, in the face of heavy enemy fire, destroyed an 88mm. gun and an ammunition dump. Completely disregarding the great danger involved, he remained in his exposed position, and, with his M-1 rifle, killed the enemy one by one until he was wounded 4 times. Taken to a covered position, he insisted on returning to a forward position to stand guard during the night. On the following morning the enemy launched a concerted attack and advanced to within a few yards of the position, throwing hand grenades as they approached. One of these landed within a few feet of Pfc. Mann. Unable to raise his arms, which were bandaged to his body, he yelled "grenade" and threw his body over the grenade, and as it exploded, died. His outstanding gallantry above and beyond the call of duty and his magnificent conduct were an everlasting inspiration to his comrades for whom he gave his life.

Medal Of Honor Tuesdays

I am excited to start featuring a new regular post for Tuesdays. This is something that will inspire, I hope. An Army site I frequent documents the stories behind men and women who have received the Medal Of Honor. The Medal Of Honor is the highest award given to military personnel. Often times the recipient is killed in action because they gave their own life. How can words ever thank the man or woman who goes beyond the call like this. They are often breathtaking stories of heroism. I want to share a story with you weekly from that site. PLEASE read them every week, you will not regret it.

Our savior once said
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." -- John 15:13
Such beautiful words. It will be my pleasure to honor those that gave so greatly and even some that gave all. Starts tomorrow and continues every Tuesday!

Liberals Heart Criminals

One of the sickest things of our time is the recent wrist slaps that liberal judges have handed out to child rapists and other criminals. For instance, if you are a child molester looking for a safe place to practice your sick hobby, try Judge Edward Cashman's district in Vermont as your haven.
Some are trying to point to Cashman's past to indicate that he isn't a liberal. That all doesn't matter now. I'm sorry but anytime you give a child rapist 60 days as a punishment, you lose your conservative merit badge.
Liberals should be ashamed of themselves. FDR would abandon the democrats today if he were alive. The "party of the people" have forgotten the most important people among us, the children.
Vermont is a state filled with liberals just this side of terrorists. Nearly the entire state is separated from real America. Real America is the America that doesn't want to be West Europe. Thankfully Gov. James Douglas of Vermont who happens to be a Republican(How did that happen?) said what we were all thinking,
"When a grown man rapes a small child, justice is only served when the criminal is behind bars — for a long time — paying for his inexcusable crime,"
So why is this state so sympathetic to criminals? I can't answer fully the question of why libs have gone soft on crime. I think it's just another game of appeasement from the left. Appease your fears. Back down from every fight. It's the one constant that can be traced through every liberal argument. Stand for nothing even if it means falling for everything.
The only other, more cynical, explanation is that liberals fear that they too may someday commit these crimes so they had better go soft. Nah, I think they are just scared little liberal girly men.

How can the liberals defend this?

I Really Am Getting A Pet

I'm not actually going to get a cat out of a claw machine. But that's only because those machines don't exist.

But I am getting a turtle for real. I was hoping some current or former turtle owners could leave me some advice on what kind to get and how to care for him/her. I am also opening the comments for name suggestions. But Of course the beautiful Tracy will be giving the turtle his final name. Mad props to my girl Tracy!

So the polls are open now.. What should I name my turtle?

Teacher's Unions Hurt Kids

People accuse conservatives of being anti-union, and sometimes that label is accurate. Unions can be a force for good but so often lately they have been the anchor that is dragging America down. This happens for numerous reasons the main reason being that they reward mediocrity.
This is no different for the numerous teacher's unions across this great country. Most public teacher's I know are great people. They care about children and they are in that profession for the right reasons. But like most things they're are many bad apples spoiling the bunch. Sadly American kids are paying for it.

My friend Derek wrote about this subject on his blog and posted the links to the 20/20 episode entitled Stupid In America. The show was a great look into the failure of the public school system. Here are the links to the show (Windows Media Player required):

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

The last part which is critical of the teacher's unions cements in my mind the power these groups hold. Like the man said, there is no reason to be any better than the teacher in the next classroom because the pay is the same whether you are superior or mediocre. That's what unions have provided for our students. That's why we have 18 year olds who can barely read. That's why we are paying so much in taxes for failing schools. It's wrong.

More to come...

5th Annual Things I Hate Awards

I've only been here a year and yet somehow I have done this 5 times...oh well. Here is a list of things I hate for this year. Keep in mind that I don't hate people. I try not to at least. I simply hate the things they do sometimes. Let's get started...

* Reality TV -- Once again I hate reality TV. I don't think people are grasping how far from reality these shows are. Luckily this year there were much less of them. The sitcom is back! Shows like Beauty and The Geek are so unrealistic and scripted that even Stevie Wonder could see that it isn't real. I'll stick with The History Channel or King Of Queens.

* The liberals -- Liberalism is a thorn in everyone's side because it spills over into all of our lives. They want to socialize everything. They want to tax anything that achieves. Of course they want to be exempt from all of their own ideas. Not all liberalism is bad, but when the government is involved it is. The government is notorious for less then mediocre planning and execution of programs...So why then would we liberally use them to do what they do worst? Modern day liberalism is bankrupt of morality and common sense. Without those two things a movement is dangerous. Liberalism is dangerous and I hate it.

* Hollywood Celebrities -- I just can't stand the nonsense that Hollywood somehow has some important, culturally relevent message that they need to portray through their "art". These are pretentious snobs that don't have real jobs. This elitist mindset is a crock. This is why anti-war movies and movies about gay cowboys always get nominated for Oscars even though the majority of Americans disagree with those ideas. They live in a sheltered world and yet somehow they think they know it all. I think every actor and actress should be subject to random intelligence and political knowledge testing before they are allowed to orate on cultural or political matters. I'm kidding of course but at least we would then be able to truly consider the source before we will listen to elitist hype. Actually I think they should say whatever they want; I just wish more Americans would stop rewarding them by seeing their movies after they open their pie holes. Let's see how fast they'd shut up when the cash stopped rolling in.

* People Who Own Their Own Cue Sticks -- Ok, Of course I don't hate cue stick owners. Lots of people have pool tables at home and have to own cues. I would if I could. But for some reason I just don't trust people who come to the pool hall with their own pool cue in a hard case. I especially don't trust them if it's a guy and he has a pony tail. If you see a man with a pony tail and he has a cue stick in a hard case, walk away and don't make eye contact. If you see a man with a pony tail and a cue stick and he has on a trench coat...RUN, and contact the department of homeland security. I say this all with tongue in cheek of course...Or do I???

* Environmentalists/vegetarians/Vegans/Animal Activists -- I don't think anyone should throw trash outside, purposefully deplete the o-zone, or club baby seals while eating a California Condor sandwich....But I don't think we need to save animals at the expense of humans. If you need to eat leaves for your own sanity, that's fine, but please don't get all up in my grill if I have myself a steak every once in awhile. I don't have a problem with fur coats either. We are not going to have a shortage of animals. We ought to save endangered species but we shouldn't deny someone from making a coat out of an animal that is abundant. Think of the Indians when they killed a buffalo, they used every part of that animal down to the teeth. Why can't we keep up that tradition? Especially if you believe in survival of the fittest.
Fanatic activists often prefer to sacrifice human life in order to save parts of the earth that hold little value to that of human life. There are too many of us now. We have to use this earth for our benefit. Let me repeat, I have no problem with people eating veggies for personal preference or benefit but I do have a problem with people who spray paint other people's fur coats or pour pigs blood on themselves in order to protest my love for BLT's. I have a plan though if a crazy PETA member comes after me...I'm gonna hold a gun to a baby duck's head until they back down..Problem solved!

Ahhhh I feel so much better. Each year it feels good to vent..Now time to get back to more positive stuff. Thanks for letting me get that out of my system.

Ted Kennedy's Head Reaches Dangerous Size

Scientists expressed concern Thursday at the overall circumference of Ted Kennedy's head.
"The earth is starting to tilt on it's axis and it's rotation seems to be slowing at a dangerous rate.", Biologist and astronomer Dr. Peter Fitz told TLAT. "The gravitational pull from his giant throbbing melon will kill us all if we don't get it under control."
Earlier last year scientists and biologists came to the conclusion that Kennedy's head was so large because it was filled with thirty percent scotch and seventy percent bad liberal ideas. This seems to be causing the expansion.
President Bush has offered the full cooperation and resources of the federal government.

Why Does Jesus' Name Bring Fear And Rage To The ACLU?

Crossposted from Stop The ACLU

It is happening all across the nation. The ACLU sue city counsel after city counsel over praying in Jesus name. They don't sue to stop all prayer, but in every case the target has been Christian prayer. They even fought for the right of a Wiccan to pray at a counsel meeting. Many times it doesn't even take a lawsuit. They just type up a threatening letter and that does the trick. This was the case in Fredericksburg. But one man isn't taking things lying down.

Fredericksburg City Councilman Hashmel Turner has filed suit against his fellow council members, saying the council's newly adopted prayer policy violates his constitutional rights.

Turner is being represented by the Rutherford Institute, a nonprofit group that advocates for free expression issues.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Richmond, asks the court to rule that the city's prayer policy is unconstitutional, and to order that Turner be allowed back into the council's prayer rotation.

The council voted 5-1 in November to adopt a policy of offering non-denominational prayers devoid of any Christian or other specific religious references.

Turner abstained from that vote, and Councilman Matt Kelly voted against the policy.

The vote came after Turner had been excluded from the council prayer rotation for more than a year. The council got a letter from the American Civil Liberties Union in July 2004 saying that the civil liberties group would file suit if Turner continued to invoke the name of Jesus Christ in his prayers.

Turner, who is pastor at First Baptist Church of Love in Fredericksburg, had always closed his prayers before council meetings by invoking the name of Jesus Christ before the ACLU complaint.

On the same night of the November vote for the nondenominational prayer policy, Turner asked to be put back into the prayer rotation, and to give the opening prayer before the Nov. 22 council meeting.

Mayor Tom Tomzak said today he asked Councilwoman Debby Girvan to give the prayer at that meeting instead of Turner, because, "I did not want to unleash a 1,000-pound gorilla-the ACLU-on the City Council."

However, Tomzak said he does believe Turner's rights are being violated, and the suit filed today is "a lawsuit that I probably agree with."

"He's a very passionate man, a man of faith and a man of principle, and he believes his rights have been violated," Tomzak said of Turner.

Neither City Council members nor City Attorney Kathleen Dooley had seen copies of the lawsuit earlier today.

The suit calls the new prayer policy "an unlawful attempt by the City Council to prescribe the content of prayers given at City Council meetings by Turner and other members of City Council."

John Whitehead, president of the Rutherford Institute, said Turner approached his organization last fall, saying he believed his rights were being violated. "All he wants is to say Jesus Christ at the end of the prayer," Whitehead said. "He's not asking for any money. ... It's a very simple suit."

One would think that it would be simple, yet the ACLU don't seem to get that. Religious expression in America is under attack. It is a shame that an organization that claims to protect our rights are the number one censor of Christian religious expression. If they were trying to get rid of all prayer at counsel meetings, we would have a different argument, but they are targeting Christian prayers and individual expression. It is good to see this man is standing up for his rights. More people should do so.

Currently there is legislation, introduced by Representative Hostettler that could put a stop to these ridiculous lawsuits. Hostettler's proposal would amend the Civil Rights Attorney's Fees Act of 1976, 42 U.S.C. Section 1988, to prohibit prevailing parties from being awarded attorney's fee in religious establishment cases, but not in other civil rights filings. This would prevent local governments from having to use taxpayer funds to pay the ACLU or similar organization when a case is lost, and also would protect elected officials from having to pay fees from their own pockets.

Is The Nation Drifting To The Left?

Dick Morris thinks so.

He says this:
The evidence is clear: The generic party ballot for Congress, for example, has now swollen to a 13-point Democratic edge while Bush’s job approval hangs in the 40s and his advisers are relieved that it is no longer a lot lower.

Why the leftward move?

A big part of the reason is the success the Bush administration has had in solving and hence diminishing the importance of the Republican agenda. Taxes have been cut, we have not had a terror attack since Sept. 11 and trial lawyers are on the defensive. The issues that remain — energy, environment, healthcare and Social Security — usually are Democratic and liberal.
I agree that the nation is drifting left but for a different reason. I think that if you look at the big picture the nation has been drifting left slowly since it's humble beginnings. The bigger the population gets the more people feel entitled to things. It's as simple as that. That's my two cents for the day.

Iran? Are We Doing This?

Is Iran trying to get crazy with ese? Don't they know we're loco?

What a foolish move by Iran to try to go all terrorist gangsta on everyone. This is our game right now. We are next door and we are pros at taking out leaders. I don't want to go to war with Iran but you know that Israel would have our back if it came to that. Why do suckas gotta front? Yo.

We've Forgotten Why We Fight!

I just watched a documentary on air defenses immediately following 9-11. I'm posting this because every time I see that video of those towers falling I feel that familiar shock and anger inside. We have forgotten why we are fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan, and probably Iran next. 3000 people lost their lives, and millions more would have if George W. Bush hadn't taken action. Millions more Americans will die if we don't continue to take an offensive stand.

* Thank God for what George Bush is doing to stop terror.

* Thank God for the fall of Afghanistan.

* Thank God that Saddam Hussein is not in power.

* Thank you to those who are serving in the military in any way shape and form.

* Thank you to those who have been injured or have given the ultimate sacrifice. Words can't describe our thanks. I am so sorry for our nation that has all but spit on you because this mission is beyond their comfort zone. A lot of them are living for nothing and so fighting for anything is out of the question. Sad.

It's sad that this is just the beginning of a long, war. If I had my way we would show the video of those towers falling more often so that we wouldn't become so complacent about who we are fighting. For those that think Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror...think again. Saddam was just as much a terrorist as Bin Laden. He terrorized his own country as well as several others and many people are dead today for no reason other than Saddam's sadistic whim.

Iran should probably be next once we have the resources to do it. I hate war but this is our reality now and it's kill or be killed for sure.

Thank you George W. Bush. I saw his face when they told him America was under attack. Michael Moore said it was an expression of dumb. Don't listen to him. I know it was an expression of trying to protect America first even before himself. And it still is. Barbra Streisand, George Clooney, and Michael Moore would sell their grandmothers into slavery if it meant more publicity or money...so they really have nothing to say and they DO NOT represent America in any way, shape or form.

I don't write these things to egg people on, I write them because I believe that the war on terror is a just war and it's purpose is the preservation of human life. It has nothing to do with oil or money. That's a stupid, silly lie made up by those with their liberal heads in the sand. Stop believing Michael Moore..He is a proven liar! Truth is not owned by a political party. It's not republican and it's not democrat. The truth is that we are in danger because of terrorism and something has to be done. Doing nothing is not an option. George W. Bush and other leaders in Washington did something, it wasn't easy, but something had to be done. We knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park and some of us haven't forgotten that.

Anyway that's my pro-freedom speech for the day. Thanks.

Predictions For 2006

I feel that by waiting for 5 days after 2006 started that I might have a leg up on other prediction makers. So let's get right to it...

* Disneyland's annual "gay day" at the park will be extended to include a transvestite day. Children will be confused as to whether Mickey or Minnie is giving them a hug.

* Mr. T will go into hyper mode after he decides that in 2006 he will pity more fools than ever before.

* Tookie Williams will rise from the dead and kill us all.

* After having successfully distracted the U.S. with their Sudoku puzzles the Japanese will attack.

* Historians will declare that Walk Like An Egyptian is the stupidest song ever written.

* The makers of Yoohoo chocolate drink will celebrate their 20th sale.

* In a clerical error Gary Coleman will receive a Kennedy Center Honor.

* In an effort to appeal to the high percentage of overweight children, Sesame Street will introduce a new character. It will be Big Bird's cousin, Big Boned Bird.

* The Democrats will theorize that George W. Bush caused World War I after they reveal that he was the one that assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

* The U.S. government will introduce a new program designed to ease overcrowded prisons... Any prisoner can be set free if they agree to be roundhouse kicked one time by Chuck Norris. There will be no takers.

* Pat Robinson will declare that anyone who doesn't send the 700 Club 500 dollars will experience the wrath of God...everyone decides to take their chances. (Why is anyone still watching that show...Don't be so gullible!)

* There will be massive earthquakes, tsunamis, famines and wardrobe malfunctions.

* Richard Simmons will grow his afro to 3 times the legal limit.

* Out of boredom George W. Bush will use his weather machine to thaw Antarctica.

* Left Behind 4 will win 4 Golden Globes and 7 Oscars. The new McGee and Me movie will be ignored.

* The Life And Times will be voted second best blog by the organization known as The Internet For The Illiterate and Blind Society.

* Yo Momma.

I think I have a chance of getting some of these right...Then I'll finally get some recognition beyond my 3 loyal readers. Happy 2006 everyone! May God Bless you this year!

Chuck Norris Facts

I found this site that shows random facts about martial arts expert and actor Chuck Norris. It's hilarious so I thought I'd post 5 facts from that site...

* Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried.

* Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

* A blind man once stepped on Chuck Norris' shoe. Chuck replied, "Don't you know who I am? I'm Chuck Norris!" The mere mention of his name cured this man blindness. Sadly the first, last, and only thing this man ever saw, was a fatal roundhouse delivered by Chuck Norris.

* Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

* If you can see Chuck Norris, he can see you. If you can't see Chuck Norris you may be only seconds away from death.

I wish I'd come up with those.

How Long Before Bush Is Blamed For The Mining Accident?

Any one care to wager a guess? Clearly Bush had something to do with it. I think maybe Karl Rove did it to distract the public from the poll numbers. Why do you think Bush did it?

My New Years Resolutions

I don't really care for new years commitments but here goes anyway..

Here's what I want to accomplish this year...

* Grow deeper in my walk with the Lord. Everything else in my life would surely fall into place if I could give all my decisions over to Jesus.

* Listen to more soul and folk music. Modern rock has become a caricature of itself. It's boring and uncreative. Maybe I'm just becoming an old geezer...who knows.

* Talk about people's moms more. People seem to really like that.

* Quit buying stuff I will barely use. Maybe spending twenty bucks on a game that features a bear bowling in an inner tube wasn't my greatest moment.

* Get more people to listen to The Phil Hendrie Show so that I can talk about it with people. It gets old trying to laugh about what happened on the show that night and seeing the blank stares from people that don't get the show. It's the funniest radio show I have ever heard.

* Shop at Wal-mart more to make the pinko commie liberals angry. As a rule of thumb if you are doing something that makes a liberal mad then you are probably doing the right, moral thing.

* Stop worrying so much about my health. Just because I get a hangnail it doesn't mean I have an inoperable brain tumor..... Of course it doesn't rule it out either.

* Watch less TV. All I need is the local news, Lost, and Arrested Development. Arrested Development has been canceled so I guess I'm down to Lost and the news.

* Stop using the word midget. They want to be called 'Little People' now. I'm so Sizeist.

* Read more. And no, turning on the closed captioning on the TV doesn't count.

* Eat less cheese. If I continue the way I am I run the risk of getting backed up.

* Keep this blog up and running with new material daily. My three loyal readers deserve the best I can bring.

* Quit cheating at solitaire.

Here's praying that I get them all accomplished. Happy New Year everyone!

Predictions for 2006: Part One--The Democrats

I have a list coming this week of my predictions for 2006. But my list for the democrats alone was too big so I decided to combine it into one post...

The dems are going to snap even further in 2006. It doesn't take ESP to make that claim. It's an election year and several key races will decide who has the momentum for the 2008 presidential election so you know that the liberals are saving up accusations and claims for this year. I predict that it will be insane. Do you think that they will try to impeach Bush this year? Probably. I believe that they hate him so much that they will probably go after him for years after he is out of office. I saw a t-shirt this week that said "F Bush" and it showed a picture of him behind bars. That's how the majority of libs see this man. They don't really seem to have any rationale behind their hatred..I mean look at all the good he has done in the world for women, minorities and children. Women, minorities, and children are the one thing that the libs would cling to normally...but since Bush is getting the credit then they refuse to acknowledge the good because of their rage and hatred. That's right, the "party of the people" is now simply the party of hatred. What a lousy existence.

In 2006 the democrats will continue to support Howard Dean who will continue to say shocking things in order to gain attention. Normally party national committee chairman don't get that much press...Howard Dean can't stand that so he started flapping his pie hole.

In 2006 Rumsfeld, Rice and Karl Rove will be further vilified by the press. Duh.

In 2006 t-shirts made by sites like the Democratic Underground will call for the assassination of Bush and his cabinet. The party will slip further into a pile of dumb and hatred.

In 2006 middle-of-the-road democrats like Jospeh Lieberman will be ostracized by their own party further and more harshly.

In 2006 the nation will continue to split politically and philosophically. It's going to be a crazy year in the world of politics...that's for sure.
